MICHAEL NYMAN
FOUNDING PARTNER, CHAIRMAN AND CEO

When Michael Nyman created the firm Bragman Nyman Cafarelli in 1991, along with current Vice-Chairman Brad Cafarelli and Howard Bragman (who departed in Decemeber of 2002), he had the vision to bring the world of "Corporate America" along with the world of Entertainment. But, to go beyond the capability of public relations and pursue non-traditional marketing strategies was hardly the norm at that time. In the 90s, when many entertainment firms were dealing strictly with celebrities and media relations, Nyman identified a wealth of opportunities in the then-untapped work of entertainment outreach to corporations, building the kinds of strategic bridges between top brands and entertainment that is recognized today as essential to effectively reach consumers. Such intuition helped make BNC the largest independent consumer lifestyle and entertainment agency in Los Angeles by the time the company was acquired by the Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE: IPG) in December of 2000. Nyman, a 23 year veteran in the marketing and communications, is charged with running the 125 person firm, with offices in West Hollywood and New York City. "We are in the business of building brands, whether they are major consumer lifestyle products and or services, television shows or celebrities," says Nyman. "Our long history of expertise and relationships in both the corporate and entertainment worlds and the give us a unique advantage our clients have come to expect." In addition to media relations, Nyman personally developed the blueprint for many of the firm's core capabilities in marketing, including outreach, event marketing, grassroots marketing, product integration and, most recently, licensing and branding. Such work has resulted in work on behalf of such top clients, old and new, including: Jordan Brand, Tanqueray, Avon, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), T-Mobile, (Product) RED, Maxim Magazine, Entertainment Tonight, Sony Television, Endemol, Samsung, and Cameron Diaz, among others. Nyman is a member of Young President's Organization, and serves on the Board of Trustees of Brentwood School, the Board of Governors of Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles and on the Board of Advisors for USC's Greif School of Entrepreneurial Studies. Additionally, Nyman has contributed as a Board member for the Kayne/Eras Center in Culver City and the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund for Children's Cancer, Leukemia and AIDS Research. Nyman resides in Brentwood with his wife and two children.
